The Georgia lemon law could protect your rightsIf you're considering taking on a giant automobile company in a Georgia lemon law suit, you'll want to make sure that you have your own giant on your legal team. Lemon Helpers -- a website operated by Macey & Aleman, one of the largest consumer protection firms in the United States. Their staff of experienced attorneys is ready to help you fight for your Georgia lemon law rights. Are you covered by the Georgia lemon law?The Georgia lemon law provides excellent protection for consumers like you. Most motor vehicles are covered under the Georgia statute including any vehicles primarily designed for the transportation of persons or property over the public highways, leased or purchased in Georgia, or registered by the original consumer in Georgia, and on which the original title was issued to the lessor or purchased without having been previously issued to any person other than the selling dealer. The state statute does not include motor homes designated, used or maintained primarily as a mobile dwelling, office or commercial space, motorcycles or trucks with 10,000 lbs. or more GVWR. If your vehicle is still under the coverage of two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, or your vehicle has had one repair attempt or been out of service for 15 days within one year or 12,000 miles, you may be eligible to pursue a case. You must show that there has been one repair attempt for a serious safety defect in the braking or steering system. For other problems, you must show that there have been at least three repair attempts or your vehicle has been out of service for at least thirty calendar days. If you prove your case on a vehicle you purchased, you can choose to have the manufacturer either replace it with a comparable vehicle or provide you with a refund of the full purchase price as well as all collateral charges less a reasonable allowance for your use. If you have leased your vehicle, the lessor can decide whether to replace that vehicle or provide a refund.
